Democracy in Action

7th November 2017

Today we held elections for our school council. Each of our 4 classes elect 2 councillors per year.
Every candidate devised their own manifesto, made a speech to their class and hoped for the best. In assembly this week we discussed what qualities we would be looking for in our councillors. Children told us that : they should be good listeners, friendly, be good at thinking, be imaginative, be  good at speaking and communicating.... if only adults could live to the same standards!  We held secret ballots today overseen by our returning officer Miss Penhall. There were some difficult choices to make. The results will be announced on Friday!
