The Governing Board
Governors play a vital role at Nanstallon School overseeing strategic leadership decisions and acting as a ‘critical friend’ to support, challenge, ask questions and ultimately represent the school community by bearing collectively accountability.
Governors appoint the headteacher and work with him to ensure that the school offers the best education for its children. They are involved with areas such as buildings, finance, curriculum and staffing. The day-to-day running of Nanstallon School is the headteacher's responsibility.
Nanstallon Governors have a wealth of experience, knowledge and skills that they use to support school. They have a formal constitution and the board is made up of representatives from parents, the head teacher, staff and the local authority, which work together with foundation and co-opted governors, all acting in the interest of Nanstallon. None of the Governors can act individually, nor does any Governor represent a particular point of view or group within Nanstallon.
